Sole Cost Management

SoleCM is an activity-based costing system designed for universities and public administration. The system produces updated information concerning the costs derived from service production, and outputs. The information supports management, pricing and decision making.

Functionality

SoleCM is a cost matching, activity-based system that utilises the focusing basis that is imported, for example, from the SoleTM system (working time).

The system may be used to focus costs on the result units, result areas, products and outputs, such as degrees.

Process

The process starts by identifying the particular parts and activities within an organization. The activities reveal what is done in the organization, e.g., how the working time is used.

The next stage is identify the outputs, i.e., which services, results or products are produced.

Then, the relevant costs for each activity and output are defined.

Primarily, the cost will be focused directly to certain activies (variable costs). The fixed costs are distributed by shares.
